Frequently Asked Questions
What is forestry or brush mulching?
Forestry mulching is a land clearing method that uses specialized equipment to cut, grind, and mulch brush, small trees, and undergrowth in a single pass. It’s an efficient and environmentally responsible way to clear land while leaving behind a layer of organic mulch that helps reduce erosion.
How much does forestry mulching cost?
Pricing depends on factors such as property size, terrain, vegetation density, and accessibility. We provide free site assessments and custom quotes based on your specific property. Contact us to schedule a visit and receive a detailed estimate.
Do I need to prepare my property before you arrive?
We recommend removing or marking any obstacles that could damage equipment, such as metal fencing, wire, tires, or large debris. If your site contains these items, we also offer site debris removal as an optional service to prepare the area for mulching.
Will mulching damage my lawn or create ruts?
Some ground disturbance, including ruts and tire tracks, is normal when operating heavy equipment. While we make every effort to minimize impact, it cannot always be avoided. As standard remediation, we rake disturbed areas and apply seed. Full lawn replacement or sod installation is not included.
What happens to larger trees on the property?
Forestry mulching works best on brush and smaller trees. For larger trees that cannot be mulched effectively, we can coordinate removal through trusted subcontractors, so you have a single point of contact for the entire clearing process.
Do you offer seeding or erosion control after mulching?
Yes. We offer optional erosion control and seeding services after mulching. This is especially useful on slopes or areas where you want to establish new vegetation and reduce the risk of erosion. We can discuss the best options during your site assessment.
